DS Dalgleish & Son has joined the SsangYong Motor UK franchised dealer network after officially opening a new dealership at its premises in Coldstream.

Nick Laird, managing director of SsangYong Motor UK said that the manufacturer’s success in attracting the new retailer had come on the back of the “hugely successful” recent launches of new Rexton SUV and Musso pick-up.

He added: “The brand is committed to long-term investment in new products and will see at least one new model launched each year through to 2022.

“We are especially delighted that DS Dalgleish & Son has decided to add the brand to their dealership in Coldstream.”

DS Dalgleish & Son, which was founded by David Dalgleish in 1968, held the Datsun franchise by 1972 in Galashiels, and still represents Nissan today.

After further expansion in 1996, and with the purchase of its Coldstream facility, DS Dalgleish added the Citroen franchise in 1997.

Since then the dealership has also added the Subaru and Fiat Service franchise to its portfolio in Galashiels.

Barry Dalgleish, dealer principal at DS Dalgleish, said: ‘We’re very excited to be joining SsangYong. We were attracted to the brand by exciting new vehicles that have started coming through from Korea.”

He added: “SsangYong has a great product range, and with very competitive pricing and a 7-years/150,000 miles warranty. We believe it will do extremely well in our area and we look forward to growing our business as a result.”
