Plans for a new BMW and MINI dealership look set to be given the go-ahead for Ocean BMW as the South coast-based group updates its showroom portfolio.
Plans have been submitted to Teignbridge Council for new car showrooms with associated workshop with MOT and wash facilities, on land off Torquay Road, Kingskerswell.
A total of 77 full-time employees work on the proposed site, which will include a dedicated lay-by to the south west of Torquay Road, to accommodate transporter deliveries, reported Devon Live.
Plans for the new showroom were revealed after Ocean BMW completed the redevelopment of its Falmouth facility.
Residents living near to the Kingskerswell site have expressed concerns about heavy goods vehicles travelling to and from the proposed facility through the village, however.
Kingskerswell Parish Council was among those who objected to the plans on traffic grounds.
Teignbridge Council planners are set to approve the plans, Devon Live reported, subject to a Section 106 agreement to secure a contribution of £41,000 towards air quality mitigation, improvement and monitoring in and around the Kingskerswell Air Quality Management Area.
