Ford’s retail dealer group TrustFord has partnered with Public Health England to support changes to existing smoking laws in the UK.
As of October 1 this year, it is illegal to smoke in any vehicle with anyone under the age of 18 present, with drivers and smokers facing fines if caught doing so.
With over 80% of cigarette smoke being invisible, the law change is aimed at protecting children, whose lungs, airways and immune systems are less developed, from the dangers of secondhand smoke.
As part of TrustFord’s drive to raise awareness of smoke free driving, a new car air freshener has been created in collaboration with Public Health England to inform drivers and passengers of the change in the law.
The fresheners will be handed over with every new and used car purchased at TrustFord dealerships during October, as well as offered to customers who bring their vehicles into the dealerships for service and repairs during the same period.
