Peugeot has revealed the refreshed look of its best-selling model the 208.
The exterior sees a new front bumper, with a wider grille, two-tone headlamps, with black and chrome masks, a hi-tech LED light signature and new 16 and 17-inch alloy wheels.
At the rear, the full LED light clusters have been re-designed to incorporate Peugeot’s 3D ‘claws’ motif.
Brand new to the model is MirrorScreen technology, which makes it possible to transfer the screen of a smartphone to the vehicle’s display, to make full use of its applications. Access to apps depends on whether the vehicle is moving or stationary.
Active city brake is included as standard, which helps to avoid an accident or reduce its seriousness if the driver fails to react. It works in urban conditions at less than 20mph.
A new GT Line trim level has been added, which features an ‘Equalizer grille’ with red 3D markings, a gloss black grille, front fog lamp finishers, 17-inch Caesium diamante alloy wheels, Perla Nera black door mirror shells, chrome window surrounds and a chrome exhaust finisher. It has GT Line badges on the grille, front wings and tailgate, plus red Peugeot lettering to the front and rear.
The new 208 ‘GTi by Peugeot Sport’ is also new to the range and features a lower ride height, wider tracks, 18-inch wheels, matt black exterior features, Brembo front brakes, tuned suspension and steering settings, sports ‘bucket’ front seats, red floor mats and two-tone paintwork.
The new Peugeot 208 will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, next week, with first deliveries expected in June.
