Benfield Motor Group has opened a new £7 million Audi dealership on Scotswood Road, Newcastle.

The new 35,000 square foot site has opened following a 12 month construction period. It is set on a 4.5 acre site and is the latest to feature Audi’s new brand concept.

The dealership features the first of Audi’s car configurator rooms outside of London. The new room is a private space for customers to customise their new Audi using touch screen technology. There will be 40 dealerships in the UK which feature these new configurator rooms.

Mark Squires, Benfield’s chief executive, said: “From facilities which were beginning to tire, compared with our North Tyneside, Wearside and Teesside centres, the new Newcastle Audi will become the proud flagship for North East Audi."

The new development replaces the present Audi dealership on Scotswood Road and the new showroom has space for a 19 car display area and there is a used car display area with space for over 80 vehicles.

The overall development also includes an aftersales facility, a 19 bay workshop, customer car parking and a ‘Quattro Lounge’ with free Wifi and refreshments.

Benfield has 34 retail outlets throughout the North East of England, Yorkshire, Cumbria and South West Scotland across a portfolio 16 car franchises.
