Auto Trader has stepped in to replace a family’s Volkswagen Lupo after it was swallowed up by a sink hole in High Wycombe earlier this month.

Zoe Conran’s Lupo disappeared into a 30ft sinkhole in their driveway due to heavy rain and tunnel mining.

Conran said: “It is very surreal when you wake up and find your car has fallen through a big hole in the driveway.

“I never expected anyone to get in touch and offer us a new car, so I was surprised when Auto Trader said they wanted to get me a replacement Lupo.

“I am so grateful as it means I am now back on the road again.”
