Vertu Motors has become the latest company to join the tyre safety organisation TyreSafe.

TyreSafe already offers free tyre safety checks at all of its dealerships and conducts extensive tyre training for its advisors and technicians. However, as a TyreSafe member, the group is seeking to place even more emphasis on tyre safety issues and will actively support TyreSafe’s campaigns in-store, in local communities and online.

Chairman at TyreSafe Stuart Jackson said: “We are delighted to welcome on board such a major dealer group.

“Tyre safety remains a significant problem in the UK so it’s essential that we continue to engage with new members such as Vertu Motors, who can help educate drivers and make a real difference on a daily basis.”

TyreSafe’s awareness and education efforts have helped reduce the number of tyre related casualties by 38% since it began, however, in 2013 there were still more than 950 tyre related casualties on the UK’s roads.
