The managing director of Luscombe Motors has committed to donating £50 to charity for every new car sold in a weekend of fundraising.

Robin Luscombe (pictured holding the cheque), boss of Luscombe's Leeds, announced via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn that he would make the contribution to two charities, Children in Need and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The public response, he said, was overwhelming with a record 16 cars sold. It means each charity were given £400.

The company is also now supporting St Gemma's Hospice, in Leeds, with its Christmas 'big car raffle' to win a car, a Mitsubishi Mirage supplied by the dealer.
