Consumer confidence is at its highest for five years, says AM top 10 dealer group Sytner.
It says its order book is up 15% on the same period last year, experiencing close to double-digit growth" in new and used cars in the first nine months of 2013.
Sytner managing director Gerard Nieuwenhuys told the Leicester Mercury: "Our order book is currently 15% up on last year, so we feel there's cause for optimism.
"There's definitely more footfall and interest in our showrooms. Our enquiry levels are certainly up. It's safe to say consumer confidence is in the best shape it's been since 2008."
