Ridgeway Group has acquired Sytner’s Jaguar dealership in Oxford for an undisclosed sum.
This purchase quickly follows on from Ridgeway’s acquisition of Hartwell Land Rover in Oxford at the end of May and increases its annual turnover to £550 million which puts it in the top 20 largest dealer groups by turnover in the UK.
John O’Hanlon, Ridgeway Group’s chief executive, said: “We are very excited and proud to represent the Jaguar brand in Oxfordshire - a territory we know well.
“The Jaguar brand is on the real up - a new product offensive, ‘Number 1 Car Manufacturer’ in the What Car? J.D. Power Survey 2013 and the launches of F-Type, XJR and a new powertrain in the XF highlight the desire of Jaguar to meet the needs of a diverse car buying audience.
“The addition of Jaguar to our brand portfolio, further strengthens the Ridgeway Group’s recent relationship with Jaguar Land Rover and serve as a platform for future growth.”
The site (formerly known as Guy Salmon Jaguar) will be rebranded as Ridgeway Jaguar. All staff will transfer to Ridgeway – increasing the company’s workforce close to 1,200 employees.
Based across the middle and south of England, Ridgeway represents Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Land Rover, Range Rover, Mini, Škoda and Smart.
Ridgeway also provides new and used vans and trucks from (Pentagon) Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Fuso Canter. In addition, it also has four used car centres.
