Subaru expects the fourth-generation Forester to become its most popular model when it goes on sale next month.
With X-Mode technology improving the vehicle’s All-Wheel Drive capabilities, the new SUV will be available in the UK from 1 May.
Prices start from £24,995 OTR for the 2.0D X. The range-topping 2.0i XT is £30,995.
Last year the Forester accounted for 170,000 sales globally, 27% of the Japanese brand’s total sales. 15,000 were sold in Europe.
Subaru says the new Forester has been shaped around SUV buyers’ priorities: a high driving position, generous interior space and ease of entry for adults and children.
The new Forester is 2mm taller than the outgoing model, 15mm wider and 35mm longer.
There are six trim levels to choose from. A 2.0-litre diesel engine returns 49.6mpg and 150g/km CO2 and there is also a new 2.0-litre direct injection petrol turbo.
It will be backed by a five-year 100,000 mile warranty.

This brand seems to be finished in the UK as it's products simply do not compete with other light weight SUVs either on price or dynamics. If Subaru wants to survive it must go abandon the idea of having an importer, reduce prices and go direct.
