Now Motor Retailing has acquired the assets of Monorep, a dealership and authorised repairer for Vauxhall and Chevrolet, which went into administration in November.
It was one of the largest suppliers of genuine Vauxhall parts in the UK with a large parts stock holding.
The recession-hit group had been experiencing financial difficulties for some time. When a recent sale of the business fell through the directors resolved to place the company, which had two franchised sites in Hayes and Southall, into administration. Some 75 staff were affected by the decision. The Southall site remains shut.
Monorep sold new and used Vauxhall and Chevrolet cars as well as other marques. It also sold vans and commercial vehicles, and offered leasing and contract hire arrangements to customers.
The family business was established in 1977.
Now Motor Retailing was originally established in November 2006 and now consists of seven locations across North and South West London. It employs 250 people and turns over in the region of £60 million per annum. Since formation it has been a General Motors Holdings' business.
