Yorkshire car retailer JCT600 has made a five figure investment in rolling out a new mobile specific website in response to a huge increase it has seen in customers researching on smart phones while on the move.
JCT600’s website can now be viewed on any internet enabled phone and focusses on four main areas of the website including used car search, find a dealership, special offers and book a service.
Charlotte Murray, digital media manager of JCT600, (pictured) said: “Research shows that not only are today’s sophisticated consumers carrying out extensive research online, but increasingly they are accessing the internet via mobile devices.
“We have seen traffic to our website via mobile phones more than double in the last year, rising to 23% of all visits in April.”
“We recognise that customers browsing on a mobile while out and about want a different, quicker experience. We’ve launched this more concise mobile version of our website to meet these needs for speedy and easy access, focussing on the most popular features such as enabling customers to save favourite used cars, searches or offers.”
Since launching its re-designed website in January 2009, JCT600 has grown its organic traffic to over 86,000 visits a month.
JCT600, which has its head office in Bradford, is a family business with 42 dealerships throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and the North East. It represents 21 different brands such as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen.

A logical and well planned decision. I recall a similiar decision in the 1970s when we moved from metal to perspex number plates as they were more durable and easier to clean :-)
