A government minister has said a new scrappage scheme should not be ruled out.
Transport minister Mike Penning said at the CV Show this week that he wouldn't rule out a scrappage scheme for trucks 10 years and older to stimulate the market: "I think the truck manufacturers would like a scrappage scheme. I'm always in contact with my colleagues at the Treasury so we will see."
A scrappage scheme for cars successfully revitalised the car market in 2009. There is no sign of the Government warming to the idea of bringing it back.
