An Experteye survey of 34 leasing companies has highlighted room for improvement in motor manufacturers’ contract hire and leasing propositions, with average satisfaction across eight key areas sitting at just 49.4%.
The new research, sponsored by Volkswagen, found that only 43% of ‘senior personnel’ were satisfied with manufacturers’ fleet strategies and just 44% with their support terms.
Satisfaction levels were highest for the brand and vehicle range (59%), while dealer performance scored second highest (55%).
Other scores were for supply and order process (51%), quality of contract hire and leasing managers (49%), events and communications (48%) and contract support (46%).
The report concluded that the four most important items to the contract hire and leasing sector were support terms, brand and vehicle range, contract support and fleet strategy. Three of these four achieved the lowest satisfaction scores.
Rick Yarrow, managing director of Experteye, commented: “It will raise a few eyebrows with motor manufacturers that the leasing sector feels they are falling short with their fleet strategies, which achieved the lowest satisfaction score of all.”
