Proton has announced a new partnership with The WMS Group which will see its dealers offering used vehicles under the Safe And Sound banner.

The seven-element warranty scheme means that each used vehicle sold by participating dealers – both Protons and other models – will come with a 60 point safety inspection, a provenance check, a mileage verification, an independent valuation, a ‘dealer buy back guarantee’, a recovery package and a ‘wear and tear all mechanical and electrical’ warranty.

Simon Park, general manager for sales and marketing at Proton (UK), commented: “We have no doubt that this package will give the ultimate protection to our used car customers.”

Golden Hill Garage in Leyland, Lancashire is the first Proton dealership to adopt Safe And Sound. Managing director Richard Smith said: “The endorsement of this scheme by Sir Stirling Moss OBE will be a great selling point. It will enhance the confidence of our customers.”

Eric Stone, business development director at WMS, added: “The scheme will afford Proton dealerships a competitive edge to increase sales and customer retention rates.”
