Mitsubishi Motors UK has appointed Rawlinson Mitsubishi as its new dealer for Bury St Edmunds.

The family-run business, based at Moreton Hall industrial estate, has been an Renault dealership for over 21 years and is expanding by taking on the Mitsubishi franchise.

Jonathan Rawlinson, managing director of Rawlinson Mitsubishi, said: “In the summer we will be investing in a new dedicated Mitsubishi showroom here at our existing Renault dealership.

“At a time of doom and gloom in the economy we are delighted to be investing and expanding our business in Suffolk to the benefit of our existing customers and look forward to welcoming new Mitsubishi customers to Rawlinson’s."

John Banks Mitsubishi terminated from the franchise back in March 2010 which was their decision, this has since been an open point for us.

MMUK had been actively been seeking new representation for that area since their termination, hence the new appointment of Rawlinson Mitsubishi this month.

A spokeswoman for MMUK said: "We had been actively been seeking new representation for that area since John Banks' termination, hence the new appointment of Rawlinson Mitsubishi this month."

The latest appointment takes the Mitsubishi network up to 115 dealerships.
