The head of Vauxhall Opel has said Vauxhall must boost its retail sales in order to be more profitable.
The Ellesmere Port Pioneer newspaper reports that its chief executive Karl-Friedrich Stracke made the comments during a visit to GM Europe's Ellesmere Port assembly plant.
Stracke praised the plant's workers and low absenteeism, adding "the work at Ellesmere and Luton is world class".
