Marshall Motor Group has had plans for a totem sign blocked by Cambridge planners.
It wanted to put the six metre tall totem up in front of its Jaguar dealership, one of eight showrooms close to Cambridge Airport.
But South Cambridgeshire District Council has blocked the move, saying the site is in the countryside and the proposed sign "seriously detracts from the visual amenities of the countryside and is out of keeping with the character of the area", reports Cambridge News.
Marshall will appeal against the decision.
