Volkswagen has extended the contract for its chairman Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn to stay in the role for another five years.

The VW board’s decision was unanimous and it will see Winterkorn complete VW’s merger with Porsche

Winterkorn was previously head of Audi and was appointed VW chairman at the beginning of 2007 with a contract until the end of 2011.
