Vauxhall continues to be the second most popular make in the UK with a parc totalling 3,856,422 or 10.293% of all registered vehicles.
And with the Astra being the most popular model, making up 33.4%, it’s hardly surprising that nearly half of all Vauxhalls in the UK are five-door hatchbacks.
They represent 48.32%, followed by three-door hatchbacks at 21.38% and MPVs making up 12.94%.
The Astra’s popularity is followed by the Corsa on 30.36%, the Vectra with 14.9% and the Zafira on 9.91%.
Just over half (51.04%) of all Vauxhalls are registered to men, with women owning 31.69%. Company cars make up 11.17%.
Nine out of every 10 (90.06%) Vauxhalls registered in the UK have manual transmission.
The most popular engine size with Vauxhall owners is between 1,550-1949cc and represents 47.71% of the total parc.
Smaller engines between 1150-1549cc make up 33.16%, followed by plus-1950cc on 13.03%.
Vehicles with sub-1149cc engines make up just 6.10%
Nearly a quarter of all Vauxhalls (24.34%) are more than 10 years old, while a similar percentage (29.7%) are less than four years old.
The top locations to see Vauxhalls are Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow, Nottingham, Chester, Leicester, Newcastle upon Tyne, Peterborough, Bedford and Guildford. Together they contain 20.52% of all UK Vauxhalls.
Most favoured colours are silver/aluminium (32.80%), blue (22.77%), black (15.11%) and red (10.94%).
The most popular classification of cars for Vauxhall owners are small family (33.42%) and supermini (33.38%).
Medium family models make up 17.64% of the total parc.
Private plates have been put on just 8.33% of Vauxhalls.
