Prestige dealers are being offered a new short term leasing service to help customers suffering from new car delivery delays.
Equalease says that it believes there is a ready market among Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz dealers.
“One of the ways that car manufacturers have responded to the recession is to slow production and, over the last year, most delivery times have lengthened," explained managing director Paul Ashton.
"Three months is a pretty common wait and we often hear stories of six. This presents dealers with problems – the customer is potentially dissatisfied, possibly without suitable transport, and the value of any part exchange is fluctuating.
“Renting a car is one solution but the rates for prestige marques are prohibitive – a typical figure for a lower-medium model is £500 a week. We can provide a short term leased car for a similar amount per month.”
All prestige cars are less than two years old, have a standard annual allowance of 1,250 miles a month and include all maintenance, breakdown recovery and road fund licence.
Most vehicles can be delivered anywhere in the country from order in between 5-7 days.
