The buyers of two dealerships from Brooklyn Motor Group are former directors of the failed AM100 retailer.

Brooklyn managing director Tim Hill and operations director Richard Hill have bought Brooklyn's Ford outlets in Kidderminster and Malvern through their second company, MTCR Marketing, which also has a Brookhire vehicle rental operation and self-storage business.

The acquisition has saved more than 40 jobs, and the dealerships will trade as Hills Ford.

Brooklyn, ranked 64 in the AM100, was put into receivership at the end of June after several years of losses. Vertu Motors immediately bought five of its Ford and Mazda businesses.

However its one Skoda and four Toyota dealerships closed with the loss of 100 jobs.

Toyota is reviewing its franchise area, while Skoda said it aims to appoint a replacement at Rugby.
