Kia Motors UK has launched a new dealer-based contract hire initiative in partnership with leasing specialist
ALD Automotive.
ALD will provide funding and a range of contract hire and personal contract leasing services to Kia’s 134-strong dealer network for SME as well as retail customers.
All Kia dealers will have access to Threesixty, ALD’s online system that enables them to obtain vehicle leasing quotes with and without maintenance across the model range.
In addition, ALD has run a series of 12 half-day training seminars for Kia dealer-based employees to
further improve their understanding of vehicle leasing and ALD’s policies and procedures.
Andrew Sellars, KMUK’s head of fleet and remarketing, said: “The last year has seen Kia Motors UK invest significantly in the fleet market in terms of resources and training and this ground-breaking relationship with ALD will enable us to provide a class leading service to our dealers and
their customers, be they corporate or retail.”
ALD won the Kia contract in a competitive tender due to its quality of service and flexibility. Additionally, ALD will assist Kia with the remarketing of end-of-contract vehicles through the network.
In March, Kia revealed it would appoint a further five business specialist dealers (BSD) to its 15 existing centres as it aims to grow its fleet sales. In 2008 it grew fleet sales by 21% to 14,600 of its 31,324 registrations. It wants more business sector growth this year.
BSDs get training on finance options and taxation so they can properly advise small company buyers. They are also supported by a team of business sales managers, and a centrally held demonstrator fleet which BSDs can send out to pre-approved clients for a week’s trial.
