Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling has posted a video up on Youtube of a behind the scenes look at the preparations for the April 22 Budget.
Darling says he is looking beyond the recession and the planned recover.
He said: “I want to make sure that we do two things - one is to help people now through this difficult time, but equally importantly we've got to prepare for the future, to invest in Britain's future, to ensure that we can take advantage of the upturn, the recovery, when it comes. And it will come, I'm confident about that.”
The Budget is expected to include an extra £2 billion for the unemployed and a new environmental package, which could include a scrappage scheme for the automotive industry.
It is also expected that Darling will rule out new tax rises.
Darling will deliver the budget at 12.30pm on Wednesday.
