Tyneside used car dealer Dunston Part Exchange was held up by armed robbers yesterday who got away with a three-figure sum.

Two men burst into the showroom demanding money and threatening workers before fleeing the scene.

Police say one man is believe to have been carrying a small black handgun, but it is not known whether it was real or imitation.

No shots were fired and no one was injured during the robbery.
