Scottish Motor Auctions (SMA) has bought Premier Motor Auctions in Leeds for an undisclosed sum.

Premier Motor Auction was seeking a buyer in late December 2008 to rescue it from financial difficulties.

The Yorkshire auction house had been in talks with Manheim Auctions in recent weeks, however those negotiations ended with a sale not being agreed.

The Premier Motor Auctions site is now trading as SMA Leeds.

With the addition of the new Leeds site, SMA now has a group of five auction sites located in Kinross, Aberdeen, Livingston and Newcastle.
