Euro Car Parts this morning announced its acquisition of rival parts supplier LSUK.

It takes Euro Car Parts' network of trade parts outlets to 113 sites, and is expected to boost turnover from £118m to almost £200m.

The takeover includes all 53 LSUK branches, plus its subsidiaries MI Diesel Products, Protech Automotive (UK) and Yeovil Rewind.

It also adds around 600 staff to ECP's current workforce, including more than 100 skilled technicians who provide service and support for workshops.

Customers, suppliers and staff of both companies were informed last night.

Unipart Automotive has the largest chain of parts outlets in the UK, with 188 locations.
