Tecalemit has appointed a commercial service development manager to increase the scope of its services and lead ongoing development of the business.
Linda Norman, who has previously worked as service manager at Snap-On Equipment and Euro Car Parts, takes on the role and will initially oversee structural changes.
Previously, Tecalemit worked on a regional basis, which “inherently had inefficiencies in it”, said Philip Cledwyn, Tecalemit sales and marketing director.
He added that now, “with broader thinking, we are working on a national basis”.
Norman will help Tecalemit’s team to work together more effectively.
For example, when MoT equipment fails, it is down to Tecalemit to provide service engineers to those sites as quickly as possible.
With better organisation of its team, “Linda can position us to give a faster response time and at a better cost to us”, said Cledwyn.
The garage equipment company, whose range includes brake testers, vehicle lifts and wheel alignment equipment, carries out random sampling of its clients to find out customer satisfaction levels.
Based on its findings, it has regular meetings to discuss any reoccurring complaints.
It currently holds around 15-20% of market share in garage equipment, said Cledwyn.
