The acquisition, which includes a freehold property, takes the AM Retailer of the Year’s number of Renault outlets to three, and will add between £12 million and £15 million to its £94 mill-ion turnover.
Marc Matthew, chairman of the 10-dealership group, said Russells had operated the business since 1906 and that the owners had now retired.
“The group will be working on building on the strong local foundations planted by Russells and ensuring a smooth transition to Lifestyle Renault, bringing to existing and new customers unbeatable customer service,” he said.
Managing director Peter Isted added: “While existing Renault customers will recognise some familiar faces among the staff and can expect the high standard of customer service that they are used to, we are also looking forward to seeing a lot of new faces.
“We understand that the local community is the most important factor to a dealership and we will strive to build on the strong reputation built by Renault in the area.”
All the Russells’ staff have transferred with the acquisition.
Lifestyle Europe’s other Renault dealerships are in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge.
