Scottish motor dealer John McIntear has been freed by Edinburgh High Court which found his rape conviction in 2006 had been unfair.
Judges decided his trial had been unfair because the jury had not been told that the woman who had accused McIntear of rape had previous convictions for prostitution.
When arrested, McIntear had told police he had met her in a pub and paid her £20 for sex. The woman had willingly got into his car .
McIntear, of Beith, Ayrshire, had been jailed for six years
