Helphire has appointed Dr Reiner Hagemann, former executive board member of Allianz AG, as non-executive director effective from May 1.

Hagemann’s position at Allianz placed him in charge of non-life business in Germany, as well as the insurer’s operations in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland and Austria. He has since held non-executive positions in continental Europe, including Fortis.

Helphire chairman Rodney Baker-Bates, said: “I welcome Dr Hagemann to the Helphire Board. He brings a wealth of both insurance and Eueropean experience to the board. He will be particularly helpful as the group implements its developing European service proposition.”
