Online used car retailer Autoquake has recruited Gary Nicholls as vice president of retail operations. Clement Mazen has also joined as head of customer acquisition.

Autoquake sells cars on behalf of large fleet and leasing companies directly to the consumer. Nicholls will be responsible for the customer experience, including management of Autoquake's handover centres and their F&I sales. He previously worked as business services director at GMAC-owned car supermarket group Carland, but most recently was sales and marketing director at cosmetic surgey firm Transform Medical Group.

Clement Mazen has also joined as head of customer acquisition, charged with attracting visitors to Autoquake’s website. He is a search marketing and analytics expert, with experience gained at eSearchVision and Yahoo! Search Marketing.

Both will report to chief executive Garry Hobson, who joined Autoquake in November from liquidated Yorkshire retailer Dixon Motor Group. Hobson previously was managing director of Carland.
