Honda is recalling 79,000 Civics after the manufacturer has discovered a fault with the handbrake, which has led to cars to roll after being parked.
The fault was found after Honda received several complaints and comissioned an investigation into the problem.
Drivers of Civics built between 2006 and 2007 will be contacted by Honda to arrange a visit to their local dealer which will replace the handbrake for free.
A spokesman for Honda said: "As a responsible manufacturer we felt it was important for us to inform our customers as soon as possible."
