The Institute of the Motor Industry will appoint its first chief operating officer from February 23, 2009.
Linda Stansfield will join the IMI as chief operating officer from AGA Performance where she is account director for Ford at Henry Ford College in Loughborough.
Steve Nash, chairman of the IMI’s executive board and aftersales director of BMW Group UK, said: "The IMI has undergone a period of unprecedented growth over the past year and with many innovative projects planned, I am confident that Linda will be a great asset to the senior team.”
Stansfield said: “I am very much looking forward to joining the team at the IMI and am excited by the many varied opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
"With over 20 years experience in the automotive industry, I hope that my knowledge and understanding of the sector will help with the delivery of the company’s business objectives and in turn benefit the industry as a whole.”
