The chancellor Alastair Darling will present his pre-budget report on Monday, November 24.

 

The report, which is traditionally delivered in October, was delayed due to the unprecedented turmoil in the financial sector.

The report is expected to confirm that the planned increases of Vehicle Excise Duty, which would have adversely affected millions of motorists, will now be delayed.
