Citroen had embarked on a new project to look into the feasibility of producing an ultra-environmentally friendly vehicle based on the C-Cactus concept car.
The C-Cactus features a simplified design throughout with a reduced amount of components which leads to a reduction in weight and production cost.
Citroen is looking at producing the car with a range of engines, including a sub 100g/km CO2 1.0 litre petrol; a HYmotion2 diesel–electric hybrid that can return almost 100mpg with CO2 emissions of 78g/km and a 100% electric model.
Citroen hasn't yet announced when it expects to have made a decision on when the C-Cactus will go into production.
