Foxy Choice has signed up 250 dealerships and independent garages to its female-friendly consumer garage website, following its trade launch in August.

Steph Savill, Foxy Lady Drivers Club founder, said a high number of those signed up were independent garages.

She thought many main dealerships have recently signed up for the motor industry code of practice, so felt Foxy Choice was not as relevant.

About 80% of subscribers have opted for the most expensive £15 per month option, which gives businesses their own website which can be used for marketing campaigns.

It tracks the number of page visitors as well as subsequent email and website click throughs.

The Foxy promise, which all users must sign, states the intention to be a female-friendly business while never knowingly overcharging, patronising or selling customers
services they do not need or want.

Savill said it was easier for someone who owns a family business to commit to the promise, because they could better control the services that are being delivered.

She hopes to have 2,000 members on board within the first year.
