A survey found the number of people planning to buy a car remains at its lowest for three years, but one in four (27%) of those who do, say they will need a loan as part of the purchase.
Sainsbury’s Finance’s latest half-yearly survey found 6.85 million people want to buy a car by next March.
On average, they are each prepared to spend £300 more than those surveyed for a similar report in March.
The spend was set to increase by £2.1 billion to £49.6 billion.
