Paul Stokes is now the new managing director of Nidd Vale following a successful management buy out for an undisclosed sum.

Stokes was previously commercial director. He is joined by Nigel Pullan as chief executive, who was previously Nidd Vale's non-executive director.

The MBO occurred after Colin Hainstock, Nidd Vale’s chirman and chief executive decided to retire. Hainstock also acquired Nidd Vale through a MBO in 2003.

Nidd Vale has five sites located around its base of operation in Harrogate. It represents Vauxhall, Vauxhall LCV, Mazda, Saab and Seat.

On his retirement from Nidd Vale, Hainstock said: "I have worked in the motor business for over 40 years, mostly six days a week, and believe that I've earned a bit of a break. It has been tremendous fun and a great privilege to help develop Nidd Vale and its people, and the group is poised for further growth. "I don't want to sever my ties completely with the industry I love and, after a short break, hope to give something back by way of training or consultancy."
