How did you get into the automotive business?
Stepped off a bus in a suit outside a Ford showroom and the sales manager offered me a job.

What does your job entail?
Liaising with dealers and manufacturers in order to have more cars advertised on Motoring.co.uk than are in Autotrader by 2008.

How will your job change over the next few years?
I will be concentrating on growing our income streams planned from 2008 onwards.

Other jobs
I was a car salesman at Ford before becoming car rental manager. I’ve also worked for Volkswagen and BMW.

What advice would you give to young people planning to join the industry?
Never judge people, always smile and enjoy what you do.

What is the worst career move you’ve ever made?
Leaving the Smith Knight Fay Group only to come back a week later.

Hopefully, on a very large boat.
