We hear of road traffic accidents being staged in this country to fraudulently claim compensation.

In Shanghai, however, a Chinese gang staged accidents by arranging to break construction workers arms with iron bars and then getting them to jump off a building claiming the fall was the cause of the injury.

The gang apparently managed to claim about £7,000. Their fine at a Shanghai court was three years imprisonment for each member of the gang.
