Manheim has acquired NXGN, the UK’s provider of online motorcycle marketing solutions, for an undisclosed sum.

NXGN provides marketing services for Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and retail dealers.

The company will be integrated into Manheim’s Portfolio Europe.

John Simpson, managing director of Portfolio Europe, said: “Portfolio is already the market leader in the provision of used car marketing programmes in the UK and Continental Europe. What we do in the car sector, NXGN does for the retail motorcycle trade.

“NXGN’s DealerNET product is used by nearly all the UK’s key motorcycle manufacturers and dealer networks. Our respective services are a great fit and being able to combine the passion and innovative culture of both businesses will provide major benefits to all our customers.”

NXGN was formed in 1998 by the current chief executive, Alex Quinlan, who is staying with the company to assist Simpson with the UK integration. Once completed, Quinlan will move across to Manheim operations in the USA to spearhead the launch of motorcycle marketing over there.

In the UK, NXGN provide website design and management, plus national used bike stock locators for leading brands including Ducati, Yamaha, Triumph, Suzuki, Aprilla, Kawasaki and BMW.

Quinlan said: “To be part of Manheim really gives us the platform we need to expand our services and influence in other markets.

“The NXGN team has driven change in the motorcycle industry and is really excited about this move. We’re all looking forward to working closely with our new colleagues at Portfolio Europe to share ideas and develop best practice across the car and motorcycle sectors.”
