How did you get into the automotive business?
Working as  a management consultant on an assignment in my present company. The MD decided it was cheaper to employ me full time.

What does your job entail?
Full responsibility for all aspects of our European business including sales, marketing, distribution, manufacturing and product development.

How will your job change over the next few years?
It will be increasingly complex as we take on more markets.

Other jobs?
Engineering apprenticeship. Design manager – heavy mining equipment. Production manager. IT marketing and sales. Management consultant.

What advice would you give to young people joining the industry?
Work hard and push beyond your comfort levels, but it’s not enjoyable, don’t do it.

What’s the worst career move you’ve ever made?
They’ve all worked out well.

My current job.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
I’d like to be retired and have time to play with my toys.
