Kia’s model range has returned strong residual values according to CAP figures.

The Picanto holds 62% of its value after three years. The Rio holds 65% of its value after a year, and the Sportage diesel, holds 67% after two years.

The star performer of the Kia range is the Sorento, which manages to retain 70% of its value after three years.

Paul Philpott, managing director of Kia Motors (UK), said: “It’s increasingly more obvious that Kia product isn’t just about being good value as an initial purchase, the product is also a key performer when it comes to selling-on.

“Kia customers are benefiting from a growing brand and one which has been seen as reliable and good value for money. Now it is increasingly seen as a sought after brand. It’s not just about buying effectively, it is selling effectively too and we’re attracting more customers as a result.”
