Less than a year after the franchised dealer group opened a large parts warehouse in the city, it has added the Xpart All-Makes programme with a £40,000 investment.
Roger Sizer, general parts manager, says the business is keen to add a new revenue stream that would offset the decline in service revenue due to vehicle reliability and extended maintenance schedules.
“By reviving our all-makes capability to run alongside our OE parts business, we will be able to provide local independent garages with all their vehicle parts,” he says.
The company is hosting a trade night on February 22 and hopes to distribute to more than 100 workshops in the locality.
Sizer adds: “Although we distribute OE parts to more than 500 garages in the region, competition for all-makes parts is much tougher, with customers generally unwilling to wait longer than a few hours for deliveries. As a result, we are offering this service to fewer independent garages to ensure a consistently high level of service.”
The Xpart All-Makes scheme gives Marshall Motor Group access to 32,000 parts in all the main product groups, from brakes to rotating electrics.
