Newcastle-based Hodgson group is targeting further growth, revealing a target of £15m in additional sales revenue for 2008.

Last year the family-owned business generated a £4m boost in sales, bringing total revenue to £56m. Its ultimate goal is £70m.

Steve Hodgson, owner, says: “Having sold over 4,500 cars in 2006, it has been another record year for the business.

“We have exceeded even our own expectations by taking sales directly off other car brands and will be looking to continue the trend by supporting the company’s continued development, through the quality of our people, systems and facilities.”

In addition to the extra revenue, the group also aims to create more than 35 jobs by the end of 2008, adding to its current staff of 140.

Hodgson says: “This is in order to offer the north-east motoring public the opportunity to enjoy first hand the Hodgson experience.”
