Carlos Ghosn, boss of Renault and Nissan and Rick Wagoner, boss of General Motors have met today to further discuss the possibility of a tie-up between the companies.
Both are in Paris for the motor show which starts tomorrow. It was the first time they have met face to face since July, when they held talks in Detroit at GM’s headquarters about a possible tie-up.
In identically worded statements released after the meeting, the automakers said they would still keep working together towards a possible co-operation. A decision on expanding the alliance is expected in about three weeks.
