Job: Account Manager
How did you get into the automotive business?
It was accidental; I was introduced by a relative working for a DMS supplier.
What does your job entail?
Selling Automate, our dealer management system. But also following up with our customers to help make Automate even more relevant to their needs. This means working closely with marketing and development.
How will job change over the next few years?
Not much. Technology will alter and so the delivery of systems will alter. But dealers will still have the same core requirements.
Other jobs?
I have worked for Kalamazoo, P&O and Ideal Stelrad.
What advice would you give to young people joining the industry?
Listen to what your customers say, so you can influence what your company is developing so that it’s relevant to their needs.
Worst career move?
None yet.
And the best?
It must be joining MMI. But it’s true; working with a seriously dedicated bunch of people.
