Vauxhall has met its redundancy quota after 911 of its Ellesmere Port workers agreed to voluntary redundancies.
The company announced that it needed to cut 900 jobs at the Cheshire factory in May.
The cuts represent just under a third of the plant's overall 3,000-strong workforce.
The first group to go will work their last day on Friday. The factory will then break for three weeks. When workers return they will work two shifts instead of three.
